Meet The Team

22nd Stoke Leadership Team

Group Lead Volunteer

Dave

Hi! I’m the Group Lead Volunteer, and I work with all section teams to create an amazing experience for the young people on our area. Whether it’s learning to tie shoes or abseiling for the very first time, I’m passionate about bringing new experiences to anyone willing to ‘give it a go’.

Leading with us isn’t all about paperwork and planning, well maybe a little but the main thing is to have fun. Lets have a chat about your journey into scouting.

Section Team Leaders

Debera – Squirrel Team LeaderHi,

I’m a Squirrel Leader at 22nd Stoke Scouts, helping our youngest members explore the world around them through fun, adventure, and creativity. I’m passionate about giving children aged 4–6 the best start in their Scouting journey, fostering confidence, kindness, and curiosity along the way. Whether we’re crafting, playing games, or heading out doors. I love seeing our Squirrels learn and grow each week. Being part of the 22nd Stoke team means a lot to me, and I’m proud to support a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child has the chance to shine

Maria – Beaver Team Leader

As a Beaver Leader at 22nd Stoke Scouts, I help our 6–8 year olds dive into exciting activities that build confidence, curiosity, and teamwork. From outdoor adventures and creative crafts to learning essential life skills, I’m always looking for ways to make each session memorable and meaningful. Watching our Beavers try new things, make friends, and grow in independence is the most rewarding part of the role. I’m proud to be part of a group that supports young people in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment—laying the foundations for a lifelong Scouting journey.

Becci – Cub Team Leader

Hi, I’m Becci! I’m proud to be a Cub Leader and love being part of the adventure. For me, it’s all about helping children grow, learn new skills, and discover what they’re capable of – all while having loads of fun along the way. Whether we’re building fires, learning how to navigate, or just enjoying time together outdoors, I’m passionate about creating a space where Cubs can grow in confidence, make new friends, and feel part of something special.

Neil Barker – Scout Team Leader

Leading the Scout section at 22nd Stoke means no two weeks are ever the same—and that’s exactly why I love it. Whether we’re building shelters in the woods, lighting our first fire, or taking on team challenges, I’m all about giving our 10½ to 14-year-olds the freedom to test their limits, grow their skills, and have a laugh while doing it. Scouts is where confidence, resilience, and friendships are built for life. I’m here to guide, support, and sometimes just get out of the way and let them lead. Adventure starts here—and I’m proud to be part of it.
