22nd Stoke take on Gilwell – August 2025

Date: 7th Feb 2025 Author: Dave Dowley

A group of eager scouts from 22nd Stoke and Dresden are setting off on an unforgettable adventure as they make their way to Gillwell Park, one of the most renowned scouting locations in the world, before continuing on to explore the vibrant city of London.

The journey marks a special milestone for the scouts, many of whom are visiting Gilwell Park for the first time. Located in the heart of the Essex countryside, Gilwell Park is a historic site that has been a focal point for scouting since 1919. Here, the scouts will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities, from team-building exercises to learning about the rich history of the scouting movement.

Following their time at Gilwell, the scouts will head to London, where they’ll experience some of the city’s iconic landmarks and cultural hotspots. From visiting the Tower of London to taking in the views from the London Eye, this trip promises to be an enriching experience for all involved.

“We’re thrilled to be taking our scouts on such an enriching journey,” said the group leader, “This trip will not only give them a deeper understanding of scouting history but also offer them a chance to create lifelong memories in one of the world’s most exciting cities.”

Stay tuned for more updates as the scouts continue their journey!
