Badges

Throughout their time at 22nd Scout Group, every young person, and even the adult volunteers, will earn badges. They will get badges when they are invested to show others where they Scout at. They will get badges for taking part in the programme. They will get badges for becoming proficient at something, or completing challenges. They will get badges for being given extra responsibility, or for meritorious conduct.

Every badge has its place on the uniform, and its important to take care in getting it right. At the end of this page there are some images of the more common badges that we award. There are common themes throughout the various age ranges, but here are badge diagrams for each section. We advise against using badge glue to stick on the badges. This tends to peel away, leaving white patches on the uniform, and looking fairly scruffy. Instead, we suggest that the young people are taught how to sew their own badges on, under appropriate supervision.

Note that the badges on the arms should be facing outwards (sideways) rather than being on the front of the sleeve as it appears on the diagrams.

What do the Badges look like?

You can see a list of all the badges your young person should have earned (and may now need to be sewn on!) on Online Scout Manager. If you log on to this then you can choose the Badges menu item which will show you everything they have earned or are working on.
